PANJIM: The Cabinet on Tuesday approved Chief Minister’s Fellowship Programme (CMFP) with an objective to motivate young leaders and professionals and strengthen their leadership and professional roles in future.
After chairing the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that 10 youth will be awarded fellowship in thematic areas such as gender equality, social, educational and economic discipline for a period of one-year. For the first month, the selected young leaders and professionals will be paid a stipend of Rs 10,000 through the Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development while, stipend d of Rs 30,000 will be paid to them for the remaining 11 months by the department where they are posted, he said.
Mostly, these young leaders will work in the office of different Cabinet Ministers for one-year, he added. Sawant further said that the Chief Minister’s Fellowship Programme will help young leaders and professionals to strengthen their understanding of public administration system.
Contract of SHGs/Mahila mandala
and PTAs extended
The Cabinet extended contract of 107 self-help groups (SHGs) and mahila mandals and six parent-teacher associations (PTAs) supplying mid-day meal to schools. It also gave expenditure sanction of Rs 2564.08 lakh to clear their bills of 165 days.
The Chief Minister further informed that the Cabinet approved honorarium of enquiry committee chairman N D Agrawal and non-official member Tulshidas Naik, who are currently enquiring in the audit findings regarding performance audit on management of Alvara lands as reported in the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (report.
The Cabinet also granted ex-post facto approval for appointment of retired IAS officer R Mihir Vardhan as Secretary to Goa Governor on contract basis, co-terminus with the tenure of the current Governor with effect from January 1, 2021. The Cabinet also gave its approval for appointment of seven officers in the State Police Complaint Authority for a period of six months.
