CM’s pics from sanction letters may be removed

PANJIM: The State is considering replacing the photos of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Women and Child Development Minister Dilip Parulekar on Griha Aadhar’s sanction letter with the logo of Goa government.

Opposition leader Pratapsing Rane had objected to the photos on the sanction letter of government’s pet scheme arguing that the two ministers were not paying from their ‘own pocket but from taxpayers’ money.’ “Remove the photos,” he demanded.
The ruling benches however supported the printing of photos on the sanction letter tapping on their benches in the House. BJP St Andre MLA Vishnu Surya Wagh shot back at Rane saying during Manmohan Singh’s tenure at the Centre, each scheme and advertisement would have snapshots of not only him but also UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
After a brief argument, Parrikar, though adamant that their move is not wrong, agreed to consider Rane’s suggestion to put Goa government logo on the sanction letters of Griha Aadhar. It was only then that Rane got back to his seat, satisfied with the reply.
