CM’s scheduled online interaction on Teachers’ Day, now in doubt

Panjim: With Chief Minister Pramod Sawant testing positive for COVID-19, uncertainty looms around his scheduled online interaction with teachers to be held on September 8. 

Sawant on Wednesday tweeted that he is tested positive for COVID-19 and being asymptomatic has opted for home isolation. 

Following this, the Chief Minister’s Officer (CMO) announced that all the appointments and meetings scheduled stands suspended till further orders. 

As per circular issued by the Directorate of Education, an online interaction of Chief Minister with the teachers has been scheduled on September 8 between 6 pm to 7 pm on the occasion of celebration of Teachers’ Day. 

The Chief Minister is supposed to be interacting with the teachers of Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary schools along with the teachers of Special Schools as well via an online platform.

Sources in the department informed that the decision whether to go as per schedule or cancel it will depend on Chief Minister’s health condition. “No decision has been taken so far to cancel or postpone the event,” sources said.
