PORVORIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar reiterated that the coal handling companies at MPT will have to prove they can handle coal without pollution.
“The Pollution board will allow no pollution,” he said adding “under no circumstances coal pollution will be allowed.”
Parrikar, however, said that the companies will go to court and get a stay.
“So we need data and hence my department is working on it to collect all necessary documents,” he said.
Meanwhile, Parrikar said that the waste collection was the duty of panchayats and municipalities.
The chief minister said that once the two plants at Baiguinim and Verna come up, the solid waste issue would be resolved.
