Coast Guard conducts training for marine police personnel

VASCO: Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 11, Goa conducted a training programme for Marine Police personnel onboard ICG ships. The training was aimed towards strengthening the coastal security mechanism.

On-Job training was imparted onboard Coast Guard Interceptor Boatto to give first hand sea experience and familiarisation of coastline and islands. The week-long training programme was conducted from May 22 to 26 onboard Coast Guard ships. The training was formulated to understand marine operations and gain sea experience. Classroom sessions on various topics viz Boarding Operations, Radio operating procedure, Seamanship evolutions, Boat husbandry, Fire fighting and damage control formed part of the training curriculum.
