SANGUEM: Iyenger Bakery at Sanguem was forced to close down after a customer complained of finding a cockroach inside the patties purchased from the bakery.
On finding the insect inside his snack, the irate customer immediately rushed to the Government Primary Health Centre at Sanguem and lodged a complaint.
Acting on the complaint, the Sanitary Inspector attached to the Primary Health Centre Vassudev Naik visited the bakery and directed the owners to close the bakery for investigation.
It is pertinent to note that this is the second time that the bakery has been asked to be closed by the government authorities, since its opening in Sanguem some six months ago.
Earlier the bakery was closed by the authorities after it was found that the bakery was manufacturing the products in the one-room-shop, with no kitchen facilities.
The Sanitary Inspector informed that the bakery will remain closed till the time the investigation in the matter is completed.
