PANJIM: North Goa Collector R Maneka has directed Deputy Collector Sagar Gawade to submit a detailed report over the precarious state of the roads in Ribandar. The direction comes following a complaint filed by Adv Aires Rodrigues drawing the attention of the Collector that the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has over the last four weeks recklessly dug the roads in Ribandar endangering the lives and property of the residents of the area.
In her order to the IPSCDL while giving conditional permission for the road digging, the Collector had asked the agency to restore the road to its original state by May 17.
“Huge dug up trenches have been left open all over and there is also a lot of debris lying along the roads posing a health and traffic hazard,” he said.
In this regard, the Goa Human Rights Commission has also sought a report from the Chief Secretary, Collector and IPSCDL Managing Director by May 29.
