South Goa District Collector G P Naik has suspended a peon for dereliction of duties.
Naik informed that the peon left the Collectorate building without closing down the various sections as mandated as per a system in place.
He said such a callous attitude would not be tolerated by the administration.
Replying to a question, he said the police and the district administration have been maintaining vigil in view of rising thefts and that the failure by the peon to shut the doors of the various sections certainly amounts to dereliction of duties.
