PONDA: The Collem Police seized two sand laden trucks for ‘illegally’ transporting sand from Belagavi to Goa on Wednesday.
After the vehicles entered the Goa border, the Collem Police seized the trucks from custody of Fakrrudin Kasimbsab Halshikar (52) from Khanapur, Belgavi and G Sajikumar (42) from Joida, Karnataka.
Around 10 tonnes of sand was seized from both trucks, which was transported without permit. The Collem Police handed over both sand laden trucks to Mines Department for further action.
