The direction came following a petition filed by Advocate Aires Rodrigues seeking an inquiry and action against the police. Adv Rodrigues in his petition accused the Colva Police of shielding the convicted MLA and restraining from executing the orders of the court.
Pacheco’s well-wishers speaking to Herald said they are awaiting the Supreme Court order on the review petition filed by the MLA. All eyes are on the Colva Police to see how they respond to the warrant term expiry. There is speculation that Pacheco could be declared an absconder if he fails to surrender.
