MARGAO: The Colva police arrested one Akbar Alam late Tuesday night and recovered a bag containing 17 cellphones from him.
Police sources said that they found Alam, a native of Bihar and resident of Old Station Road, Margao, moving around Colva circle in a suspicious manner, and stopped him for questioning at around 10.30 pm on Tuesday.
On searching him, ASI Chittaranjan Sairoji found 17 cellphones in his bag, and the suspect could not provide a satisfactory answer to why he was carrying so many cellphones. A case has been registered under the relevant Sections of IPC.
