MARGAO: Colva Police got one day police custody of history sheeter Javed Shaikh in the rape case registered against him following a complaint lodged by one Darshana Yadav from Mumbai. Javed was arrested by Fatorda Police yesterday night near the swimming pool and handed over to Colva Police.
The complainant and Javed were having an affair and even living together in a rented premise at Colva. Complaint stated that Javed had a physical relationship with the complainant after promising to marry her.
However, as he was refusing to marry her, Darshana lodged a complaint and police have booked a case of rape against Javed under Section 376 of IPC.
