MARGAO: Colva Police suspect that Baptisto D’Costa’s whose body was found on Sunday at Lovers Beach in Betalbatim with grievous injuries on the neck was murdered. This morning Baptisto’s wife had registered a missing person report at the police station.
53-year-old Baptisto, a resident of Colva, used to run a business of rent-a-bike and had called his wife at around 10.30 pm on Saturday to tell her that he was on his way home. As he did not come home last night at 7.30 am, his wife lodged a missing complaint on Sunday.
His body was traced at the Lovers beach and accordingly the police were informed at around 1 pm. Police found grievous injuries on his neck and he was found in a semi-nude position as his trousers and underwear were lowered till the knee. Police also found two Budweiser beers, a quarter of Mansion House Brandy and two water bottles at the site along with remnants of chicken that was probably consumed there.
