Commercial Taxes assessment time extended

The State government has extended the period of assessment of Commercial Taxes for the financial year 2007-08 by six months with effect from 1st April 2010.
Accordingly, all assessments for the year 2007-08 will be completed on or before
30th September, 2010, a notification issued by Vallabh K Kamat, Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, said.
The notification is issued by the commissioner in exercise of the powers conferred by the third proviso to sub-section (3) of Section 29 of the Goa Value Added Tax Act, 2005 (Act 09 of 2005).
