MARGAO: Responding to the concerns raised by the seafarers’ community regarding pending applications and the need for an expedited process under the Goa Welfare Pension Scheme, the Commissioner of NRI Affairs, Adv Narendra Sawaikar, appointed a sanctioning authority committee to oversee and streamline the disbursement of pensions to beneficiaries under the scheme.
The committee, which includes Frank Viegas, President of the Goan Seamen Association of India, is tasked with examining pending applications and facilitating the swift processing of pension grants.
