PANJIM: The Common Cadre for Village Panchayat staff is all set to come in force from January 1, wherein the panchayat employees would be eligible for transfers as per administrative requirement.
The implementation of Common Cadre comes almost twenty months after the notification was issued in March, 2019.

“After the issuance of aforesaid order dated March 5, 2019, the said order could not be implemented as the Directorate was in the process of collation of data for the said purpose,” Director Panchayats Narayan Gad said in an order issued.
The Directorate of Panchayats on March 5, 2019 issued a notification with regards to ‘Common List of Panchayat Staff’ under Goa Panchayat (staffing pattern, scales of pay and mode of recruitment of staff of Panchayats) (Fifth Amendment) Order, 2019.
As per the order, the Director of Panchayats is the competent authority to transfer panchayat employees from time to time for administrative or other reason from common list.
“The transfer order shall be binding of all village panchayats. The village panchayat Secretary shall relive immediately the panchayat staff on receipt of transfer order from Directorate of Panchayats in order to join the transferred staff at the new place of posting,” the order mentioned.
