VASCO: The common man has been hit by rising prices of vegetables and besides onions, other essential vegetables added to the list of costly items are potatoes and tomatoes.
While there is no shortage of most vegetables in Vasco market, vegetables like fresh green peas and spring onions have disappeared from vegetable stalls as both these products are very costly.
Some vegetable vendors lamented that the price rise had severely affected their business.
“The sale has declined drastically and consumers who used to buy more than a kilo of onions, potatoes and tomatoes are now purchasing not more than half a kilo of these vegetables,” said a vendor..
