A Communidade Convention is scheduled for January 14, 2024, in adherence to Article 652 of the Code of Communidade, aimed at addressing pertinent issues concerning Communidades in Goa. This convention, slated to take place at the National Institute of Oceanography in Dona Paula, will convene members and representatives from all Communidades across the region.
The Commission overseeing this event will finalize the agenda by January 5, 2024, based on inputs received from respective Communidades. This agenda will be made accessible to the public for information through official channels. The official websites of the Collectors for North Goa (https://northgoa.gov.in/) and South Goa (https://southgoa.nic.in/) will host the agenda by January 8, 2024.
In preparation for this convention, the government has formed a five-member Commission comprising Estifano C. D’mello, Attorney of Pilerne Communidade; Nelson Joe Fernandes, Attorney of Assagao Communidade; Marvin Stanislavs Gonsalves, Member of Bambolim Communidade; Savio Joaquim Filipe Correia, President of the Margao Communidade; and Avinash Tavares, President of the Colva Communidade. Savio J. Filipe Correia has been appointed as the Moderator for the proceedings by the Commission.
