PONDA: Potholes on roads leading to inter-state KTC Bus Stand, Ponda, is causing severe hardships to commuters. They have demanded immediate repairs of the pothole-riddled KTC Bus stand road.
The Kadamba bus terminus in Ponda happens to be a major inter-state bus stand where commuters frequent the premises on a regular basis for travelling various parts of Goa, however the KTC bus stand parking bays as well as entry and exit roads are full of potholes and is dangerous for commuters.
The existence of several large potholes not only looks ugly, but also causes inconvenience to the commuters travelling to the KTC bus stand along with the locals visiting the RTO office located in the bus stand and the students proceeding to various educational institutes in Farmagudi.
The Officials at PWD often say that they have made budget estimates for repairing the road but so far no sign of repair and as monsoon is round the corner locals are demanding to repair the road.
Local activist Viraj Sapre urged the PWD, KTC authorities and the local MLA and Power Minister to solve this issue at the earliest. The KTC bus stand shed repair work is also pending as the contractor work abandoned the work.
It is causing hardships to commuters as they are forced to stand under open sky, facing the blazing sun and will further face more hardships during monsoon, if work is not completed soon. The bus stand has remained neglected for quite some time, with various issues plaguing it.
