Commuters facing hardship due to pvt bus operators’ monopoly: NGO

VASCO: Goa First on Wednesday said it would write to the Transport Minister and Kadamba Transport Corporation chairman to start KTC service on Vasco-Sada-MPT Colony route as commuters are facing hardship due to the private bus operators’ monopoly.

In a press note, Goa First mentioned that it was called by the Asst Director of Transport following its petition against the pvt bus service on the Bogda-Vasco KTC and MPT Colony-Vasco KTC routes.

Goa First was shocked to find that the Assistant Director of Transport had called for a hearing after receiving the instructions from Mormugao Deputy Collector to act on the petition.

The NGO claimed that the Assistant Director of Transport was not even aware of the bus operators charging more than 50% of the base price for a distance less than 3 kms.
