Commuters left in lurch as Margao-Karwar bus service turns ‘express’ shuttle

AGONDA: Regular passengers on the Margao to Karwar bus route have expressed dissatisfaction with recent changes that turned the service into an express shuttle without prior notice. The bus, which used to leave Margao at 6.30 am, was a convenient mode of transportation for passengers who relied on it to get to remote villages along the way. Teachers, students, and other regular commuters have submitted an appeal to KTC officials, urging them to revert to the earlier service schedule.

The passengers, hailing from Navelim, Chinchonem Cross, Dandewadi, Bhatpal, Shreesthal, and Poinguinim, were accustomed to using the bus service until it was converted into an express shuttle three days ago. This sudden change has caused inconvenience, especially for teachers and students. Complaints note that the bus no longer stops at these locations, affecting the regular commute for many passengers. Commuters are urging KTC to reconsider and reinstate the previous service schedule for the benefit of the local community.
