CURCHOREM: The Executive Engineer of Water Resources Department (WRD), Margao on Friday filed a complaint at Quepem Police Station against Seema Dias, wife of Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias for trespassing into a government property at Mulem, Paroda.
According to Investigating Officer, PSI Remedious D’Souza, the Water Resources Department has complained that Dias encroached upon the government property and used water from the irrigation canal to carry out stone crushing activities at her stone crushing unit at Mulem.
A case has been registered under Sections 447 and 403 of IPC and further investigation is in progress.
Opposition Leader Chandrakant (Babu) Kavalekar said there is an encroachment of around 1000 square metres by both the parties.
“Water Resources Department also encroached upon Dias’ property and therefore the matter is in the Court at argument stage. How can Water Resources Department file complaint when the matter is subjudice?”asked Opposition Leader Kavalekar.
He claimed that this is being done only to harass the opposition.
