PONDA: Several residents from Ponda lodged a police complaint against a LGP dealer after accusing him of deliberately keeping the LPG delivery shop closed on Friday.

Residents claimed that a number of customers were put to inconvenience as the LPG agent, without any prior notice, kept the shop closed. Many customers had to return empty-handed as there was no delivery of LPG cylinders. However, some customers later approached Ponda Police and filed a police complaint.

About 38 customers have signed the complaint letter and demanded action against the LPG dealer.

“There is always some problem or the other with this LPG agent. Customers have had to suffer for no fault of theirs. We demand termination of the agency licence and it should be given to some other dealer who can efficiently manage the business,” said Narayan Betkikar, a complainant.

When contacted, staff at the LPG dealer’s office claimed that all North Goa LPG dealers have been instructed to stop LPG cylinder delivery on Friday.

With the situation getting tense, a Ponda Police team was summoned to prevent any untoward incident.
