VASCO: Mormugao Police on Monday registered a complaint against a Lesotho national, a Nigerian national and two others for allegedly possessing mobile phones in their cells at Sada Sub-Jail.
According to Mormugao Police, Superintendent of Sada Sub Jail Gaurish Shankwalkar on Sunday during inspection confiscated four mobile phones from Jude William, Anthony Okoye and two other under trial prisoners from their cells.
Police further informed that two more mobile phones were also recovered from the toilet.
Police said the accused prisoners designed to commit offence, hatched criminal conspiracy, endangered the security of the prison, disobeyed the order of the Goa Prisons Act, thereby committing an offence.
It may be recalled that about a week back, Shankwalkar had recovered seven mobile phones, a SIM card and some tobacco packets from the under-trials at Sada Sub Jail.
