MARGAO: Two complaints were lodged at the Margao town police station and Maina Curtorim police station against Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate in Curtorim constituency Arthur D’Silva this evening by Congress supporters.
Both the complaints were against Arthur for threatening and criminal intimidation of the Congress workers. While the complaint at Maina Curtorim police station was lodged by former Youth Congress President Siddesh Bhagat, Karim Fayaz lodged his complaint at the Margao town police station as he was threatened in Gogol.
Congress candidate Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco who accompanied both the complainants to the District police headquarters said that Arthur went around threatening everybody he could find at the different booths in the constituency.
He also alleged that Camurlim Sarpanch Hilda Sequeira was threatened and abused by Arthur and police had to be rushed to booth No 16 in Maina Curtorim as the situation had got quite tense there.
