MARGAO:The Rachol village panchayat has urged the State government to complete pending infrastructure projects, especially related to roads in the village as soon as possible.
While speaking to media persons, Sarpanch Joseph Vaz lamented that many of their proposals are pending with various government departments and furthermore, when they inquire with the engineers via the Block Development Office (BDO), they are informed that they cannot visit the village due to unavailability of a vehicle to transport them.
Vaz said that recently for the panchayat founders day function held in Rachol, he had sought assurances from both the Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira and Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco and was informed that they would follow up on the matter with the PWD Road Division 6.
The Sarpanch added that due to narrow village roads, it gets difficult for locals to not only use their own vehicles for transport but also to park the vehicles at night. Vaz also called for the construction of a ring road which would be more suitable to address the geographical challenges in Rachol.
