MARGAO: Functioning at Margao Municipal Council was adversely affected as the computer snag that hit its system on Monday continued on Tuesday.
Many people including those who had come to register under the plastic management scheme had to return home due to the computer snag.
Yesterday evening the computer system suddenly hung and the taxation section had a tough time accepting payments from people who had come to pay their taxes. The same problem continued today and the taxation section could work only partly.
Only payments of house, trade and sanitation tax was possible on Tuesday and people visiting the council for any other work had to return home.
Apparently, a software that was recently uploaded to handle the receipts due to the ban on plastic carry bags had got corrupted and is expected to be attended to only on Wednesday.
