PANJIM: Computer Dealer’s Forum of Goa (CDFG) has alleged that the Info Tech Corporation of Goa has systematically prevented them by the restrictive clauses incorporated in the tender of supplying 45,000 laptops to the students of Std XI and XII.
In a letter written to the managing director of ITG and Chief Minister, the computer dealers’ forum has said that it is a deliberate attempt made by the corporation in the tendering clauses so that Goan dealers could not participate in the bidding.
The Forum has also raised a very vital issue which would be faced by most of the computer dealers in the state and said that the business of majority of the computer dealers in the state would be washed out for next six to seven years as huge number of laptops would be supplied in the state under the Cyberage Scheme.
“Many of the dealers, including one of our senior members, have been force to shut down their enterprises and one member has committed suicide,” the representation to Chief Minister reads.
CDFG has requested government to ensure fair and level playing field which should be made available to the Goan computer dealers during their participation in the tendering process.
SDFG has also asked Government of Goa to go by what was promised in the manifesto, which said that Cyberage scheme would be modified to ensure that students of class XI and above procure laptops directly from the sealers of their choice.
