MARGAO: Employees of the Administrator of Comunidades had to go without salaries for the last three months.
Even as government servants across the state received their salaries on Tuesday, beleaguered employees did not receive their salaries once again for the third consecutive month, even as the district authorities sought to explain that the proposal for salary grant has received approval from the Revenue Minister and is now awaiting clearance from the Finance department.
Employees slammed the authorities for their indifference and apathy in not making the salary payments on time when the Goa Human Rights Commission in the past had issued clear cut directions to the Communidade officials to be prompt in making the payments.
One of the employee recalled how the Administrator of Communidades had paid arrears to only a section of the employees while leaving the remaining employees in the lurch. They wondered why these same employees could not convince the government to get the salary grant to clear the three month salary payment to the employees.
