PORVORIM: Voicing concern over the garbage menace in Canca-Parra, the Shiv Sena has requested the Bardez deputy collector to resolve the problem at the earliest.
A delegation of Shiv Sena comprising Pradeep Borker (North Goa Sampark Pramukh), Philip D’Souza, Srikant Simepuruskar and Uday Virnodker called on Shetye and brought to his notice the garbage problem in Canca-Parra.
Borker told the deputy collector that heaps of garbage has been strewn by the roadside leading towards Calangute. “Since this road is being used by tourists visiting Mapusa, it creates a bad impression about Goa in the minds of the tourists. The road from Mapusa to Calangute needs to be maintained clean,” said Borker.
Deputy Collector Shetye assured the delegation that he will look into the matter.
