MAPUSA: The Village Development Committee of Arpora Nagoa on Friday raised concern over illegal construction on the riverside at Baga.
Arpora Nagao Village Panchayat issued a stop notice to an illegal structure constructed on the riverside at Baga after the Village Development Committee of Arpora Nagoa raised concern about the same.
In complaint letter to the Arpora Nagoa village panchayat, members of Village Development Committee stated that the structure is illegal and is constructed without obtaining prior permission from the concerned authorities and further requested to stop the work immediately.
The Committee stated that the land is filled with red mud and have also encroached into the river by destroying the retaining wall further destructing the ecology of the surrounding area.
Meanwhile, the panchayat in presence of Sarpanch Rajesh Morajkar conducted inspection of the site on Friday morning and informed that further decision on the same will be undertaken in the body meeting.
