MARGAO: The two accused in the assault of a karaoke singer and DJ Ashwin Alvares on September 12, midnight were granted conditional bail by the court on Monday.
Freddy Menezes and Anthony Fernandes were asked to furnish a bail bond of Rs 20,000 each and both have been asked to report to the Colva police station every day for the next five days from 10 am to 1 pm.
It may be recalled that Ashwin was brutally assaulted only because he did not continue playing music and singing after the stipulated time and had packed his bags and was about to leave the restaurant at Colva when the incident occurred.
