Condolence meet held for Parrikar

Attendees demand Bharat Ratna and memorial at Delhi for Parrikar

MARGAO: The ashes of late chief minister Manohar Parrikar were brought to Fatorda where a condolence meeting was held. The meeting was attended by many and a demand for Bharat Ratna and his memorial at New Delhi was also placed at the meet.
Former Speaker Rajendra Arlekar, Lok Sabha MP Narendra Sawaikar, former Fatorda BJP MLA Damu Naik, BJP worker Bhavesh Zambaulikar and others were present at the meeting. 
Speaking at the meeting on Parrikar, Sawaikar said, “Manohar bhai was a politician like no other who had his principles and ideals and worked only on their lines. He was unwell but he did give an answer to who will be performing after his exit.”
Arlekar said, “Manohar was a politician whose principles and ideals reflected on his work and he became synonymous with the word development for Goa.”
“Any memorial however big it may be won’t be able to describe the personality that Manohar was. Always willing to work hard and learn something new, the idea of paperless assembly session and in Konkani language were his and are successful till date,” Arlekar said. 
Advocate Raju Shinkre demanded that Bharat Ratna be awarded to Manohar Parrikar and a memorial for him in Delhi for the sheer dedication he and the sea changes he brought in the Defence sector in a short time.
