Confectionary items destroyed as truck catches fire

A major fire completely gutted a mini-truck loaded with biscuits and chocolates at Nessai last night, destroying property worth Rs 15 lakh.
The incident occurred at around 12.15 am when the Maharashtra-registered truck containing the goods was parked at Nessai.
Three fire tanks were used to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigations.
Maina Curtorim police said that three trucks carrying confectionary items had come to Nessai from Satara last night. While goods from two trucks were unloaded last night itself, fire broke out in this truck, reducing the goods to ashes.
While the cause of the fire is under investigation, it is suspected that a short circuit in the battery might have been the cause behind the fire.
