His supporters log in by 7 am but their neta and sitting MLA Pandurang Deepak Dhavalikar reboots his campaign trail almost by 9 am. Unlike urban areas, campaigning in remote areas of Priol constituency is still underway in traditional methods. People keep aside their businesses and occupations and participate in campaigns in large numbers.
The leader addresses nearly 150 – 200 voters at his residence from 9am in the morning before he embarks on his poll campaigning in the Priol constituency. Almost same number of party workers and supporters gather everyday in respective areas for door-to-door campaign wearing caps and shawls embossed with party symbol.
Dhavalikar reaches ‘Apewhal’ at 10:30am and the workers who were waiting, start campaigning with slogans walking through tiny hills and farms reaching each and every single house. Male workers distribute the manifesto whereas the candidate greets all the family members seeking vote. The women raise slogans.
Party workers make all arrangement for refreshment which comprises fruits and sealed water bottles before the start of campaigning. Meals are prepared and served at 1:30pm.
Dhavalikar feels he doesn’t have opposition in his constituency. He says opposition in the name of Independent candidate is something created by the social media.
“I don’t take the same supporter(s) and worker(s) everyday for campaign, they come from their respective areas only where campaign is scheduled for,” he claims, ‘that is my strength’, he adds.
