NEW DELHI: A month after the appointment of former MP John Fernandes as the Goa unit president, the Congress on Tuesday announced new PCC office-bearers, executive members and a 20-member Goa Pradesh Election Committee.
The GPCC committee consists of Moti Desai, Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco and Monica Dias among the six vice-presidents. The ten general secretaries include Altinho Gomes, former MLA Manohar Azgaonkar, former Youth Congress presidents Sankalp Amonkar, Pratima Coutinho and Savio de Souza. Shambhu Bhau Bhandekar has been named treasurer. Satish Borkar makes a comeback to the Congress committee as secretary along with Joseph Vaz.
There are 18 executive members and 16 permanent invitees, who include former chief ministers, former union ministers Eduardo Faleiro and Ramakant Khalap, all Congress MLAs and heads of Mahila Congress, NSUI, Youth Congress, Seva Dal and INTUC.
The state election committee is headed by John Fernandes, with all former CMs as its members. Other members include Shantaram Naik, Mauvin Godinho, M K Sheikh, Girish Chodankar, Shambu Bhandekar, Luis Cardozo, Pramod Salgaocar, Irene Barros and heads of Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI and Seva Dal.
The GPCC office bearers include vice presidents: Moti Desai, Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, Dr Pramod Salgaocar, Akbar Mulla, Monica Dias and Govind Gaude.
General Secretaries: Altinho Gomes, Sankalp Amonkar, Manohar Azgaonkar, Dr Ulhas Parab, Arthur Sequeira, Savio D’Souza, Pratima Coutinho, Gregory Xavier, Sunita Verekar and Vithoba Desai.
Secretaries: Vijay Pai, Urfan Mulla, Sunil Kauthanker, Nafisa Shaikh, Orlando Menezes, Babi Bagkar, Satish Borcar, Joseph Vaz, Ezilda Sapeco and Ramachandra Martins.
Treasurer: Shambhu Bhau Bandekar.
