PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Sunday demanded the immediate resignation of Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar for failure to provide uninterrupted power supply.
It said that the minister should take tutorial classes from the former power minister Digambar Kamat on how to run the department effectively.
Addressing the media, GPCC Spokesperson Urfan Mulla said, “The power minister has become powerless and across the State there have been massive power interruptions in the past many days. We demand that he should immediately resign as power minister. There has never been such a power minister in the history of Goa.”
He said, “Madkaikar should take tutorial classes from the former power minister Digambar Kamat on how to run the department effectively.”
He further alleged that power minister is immersed in corruption and should immediately resign from the post.
Claiming that underground cabling is the only solution to power woes, Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar on Friday had informed that the State is currently facing power problems due to the old infrastructure.
