Cong blames CM for giving govt jobs to non-Goans

MARGAO: Alleging the government is indulged in accommodating jobs to non-Goans, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar on Friday demanded that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant should come clear on the names shortlisted for the government services in the Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers Department. 

Briefing the media persons, here, Chodankar stated that on one hand the government is passing the Bill called “Bhumiputra” and on the other side non-Goans are being accommodated in the government services and injustice is done to the Goan youth. 

He informed that recently the Department of Factories and Boilers have shortlisted the names of candidates for the post of multi-tasking jobs, wherein names of the non-Goans are being noticed on the list. 

“Youth of Goa are struggling to get the jobs, not only in the government departments, but also in the private sector, and despite the high rate of unemployment in the State; the government is indulged in accommodating the candidates from Nasik. This is a total injustice on the Goan youth,” he alleged. 

Chodankar demanded that the Chief Minister should clear his stand on the issue. 

He further alleged that the government is harassing the local bodies, which are not under the control of the BJP government.
