MARGAO: President of Margao Salcete Truck Owners Association Franky Gomes whilst congratulating Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco for remaining faithful to the people’s mandate dared the 10 MLAs who defected to BJP to resign as MLAs and get re-elected as BJP candidates in their respective, constituencies.
Briefing media persons, he said Aleixo has to be complimented for remaining faithful to the mandate given by the people despite having received numerous tempting offers to leave the Congress. “I am confident that he will remain ever faithful and loyal to the Congress,” said Franky.
He dismissed the claim of the 10 MLAs who defected that they did it for the sake of development and said they were interested only in their personal development and nothing else. Franky argued that there was no need to defect absolutely and dared them to resign and get re-elected as BJP candidates from their constituencies.
He said Babu Kavlekar could not perform as a worthy MLA in the opposition and that was the reason why he defected. “He could not control any longer,” he said.
