PONDA: Slamming the BJP’s ‘agent-giri’, Congress’ Mahila Wing has demanded the arrest of Suvarna Kapad, the woman accused of ‘grabbing’ Rs 50,000 from beneficiaries of the Ladli Laxmi Scheme, and assaulting one of them for not paying her half the sum as a commission.
Mahila Wing President Sherli Dias along with PMC Councillor William Augiar told reporters that the victim of the assault is a mother to a six-month-old child, and has been admitted to GMC as she was having fainting spells and vomiting after the assault. Dias called for a probe into the matter, as many women were now coming forward with complaints against the agent.
