PANJIM: The opposition Congress on Tuesday demanded that the BJP government should cancel get-together on Wednesday to celebrate 100 days of Sawant government in Goa when people are facing devastating rains and pleading for help.

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Deputy Leader Sankalp Amonkar said that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has no right to celebrate his 100 days in office when people of Goa are facing rain fury. This is clear display of insensitivity of the BJP government, he charged.

“Goa is facing rain fury. People have become homeless. Chief Minister and his Cabinet Ministers must be on ground to give helping hand to the needy. Unfortunately, the insensitive Chief Minister is in celebration mode,” Amonkar said demanding that the Chief Minister must cancel the get-together.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Pranod Sawant said to mark the occasion, a portal will be launched while, sanads will be distributed and booklets on achievements of both, BJP government in Goa and eight years of Modi government will be released.

The get-together will be held at the PAC hall of Goa assembly Complex, Porvorim at 11:30 am on Wednesday.
