PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the Registrar of Companies (RoC) demanding dissolution of the Imagine Panjim Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) board for violating provisions of Companies Act 2013.
In the memorandum submitted to the RoC, the Congress delegation said that the affairs of the IPSCDL are conducted in a manner prejudicial to public interest as well as to the interests of the stakeholders including citizens residing or visiting Panjim. They said that the IPSCDL is mandated to file the audited financial statement and annual return as per the Companies Act, 2013, within 30 days and 60 days respectively from the conclusion of the annual general meeting . But the IPSCDL failed to submit financial statements to RoC and also failed to hold annual general meeting and violated various other provisions of the Company Act.
The Congress demanded disqualification of IPSCDL board of directors under Section 164 and to dissolve the company for failing to submit mandatory accounts, thereby allegedly involving in corruption and usurpation of public exchequer money. It had earlier demanded special audit of all works undertaken by the Imagine Panjim Smart City Development Limited under Smart City Mission.
The delegation comprised Elvis Gomes, Janardhan Bhandari, John Nazareth and others.
