Social media news creating panic among people, says Oppn leader

PANJIM: Congress on Monday demanded health bulletin on Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s medical conditions to counter the rumours and speculations spread through social media creating panic within public. 
Parrikar is undergoing treatment in Goa Medical College and Hospital, where he was admitted on Saturday night. Social media is abuzz with various speculations and news related to his health conditions. 
Speaking to HERALD post legislative party’s meeting, Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar said that the news floating on social media with regards to Chief Minister’s health has created much panic within people. “To avoid this, we urge government to release daily health bulletin on CMs medical condition, till the time he is admitted in GMC,” he said. 
Kavlekar said that Congress wishes and prays for speedy recovery of Chief Minister and urges people not to fall prey to misleading reports or spread rumours. “It is very sensitive issue and we all need to pray,” he said. 
Earlier, CLP resolved to extend its support to the mining belt bandh call given by Goa Mining People’s Front (GMPF) on Tuesday in a bid to mount pressure on the government to restart the iron ore activities. “Government has fooled mining dependents for last one year and they continue to do so even today. BJP has played with the sentiments and livelihood of the mining dependents,” he said. 
CLP also discussed about preparations ahead of INC president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Goa on March 8 to address booth workers convention. 
Congress to file PIL in HC against non-gazetteD recruitments
PANJIM: Congress party has decided to file public interest litigation (PIL) in the High Court seeking a writ of quo warranto against the illegal recruitments done in various departments in case of non-gazetted posts. Addressing media persons, Congress spokesperson Rohit Bras D’Sa said that party will file a PIL in the High Court seeking a writ of quo warranto against all those illegal recruitments done in case of non gazetted posts and seek for quashing these appointments.  D’Sa has urged aggrieved youth, who failed to get the job despite having the merit, to come forward with their grievances and address the same to Youth Congress. Congress party has assured to give justice to the aggrieved youth, who they claimed, are being fooled by the government in the name of jobs.
