PANJIM: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Saturday demanded an inquiry into the alleged case of holding as hostage, its employees by a Bambolim based Casino.
The Congress said the casino owner held the employees hostage for inquiring into possible involvement of the employees in a financial scam at the casino, Thivim MLA Nilkanth Halarnkar informed.
Halarnkar said that the four staffers of a casino were held hostage inside a room by the Bambolim based casino for four days.
He said the four staffers were rescued by the police after receiving reliable information.
“However, the police are now trying to hush up the case due to political pressure. We suspect ‘setting’ to close such high profile case. It was kidnapping and hostage case. We demand an inquiry. We are writing to DGP against hushing up of the case,” Halarnkar said.
He said that the police have recorded rescue their operation as evidence.
“Bouncers of the casino owner even tried to prevent police from rescuing the staff,” he added.
