PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Secretary Janardan Bhandari on Saturday filed a complaint at the cyber cell against ex-MLA Siddharth Kuncaliencar for creating and circulating false messages on social media.
In his complaint, Bhandari said that two messages containing falsities had been created and circulated.
“Major fights between Congress office bearers in Panaji today. Congress Senior leaders oppose payment of Rs 2.5 lakh to Siddhanath Buyao per month for party work. Senior Congress leaders term him as a plant of BJP in Congress. (He is) likely to be removed as spokesperson, informed Janardan Bhandari,” the message stated.
The GPCC Secretary in his complaint claimed that the messages are deliberate and constitute offences under Sections 504 and 505 of IPC as the messages amount to intentional insult with the intent to provoke breach of peace and mind.
“It is submitted that the said messages are circulated in my name is false and done with the intention and motive which is unlawful in nature and which constitutes offences under the above mentioned provisions in IPC,” Bhandari said.
When contacted Kuncaliencar said, “The message originated from their own camp after the fight. I am not aware of any police complaint being filed against me.”
GPCC has demanded that an FIR be filed against the ex-MLA for creating the above messages and for circulating the same while also urging to inquire into the conspiracy.
