PANJIM: The Congress on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Ramesh Tawadkar, demanding a probe into the issue of lost Assembly records as claimed by the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Congress appealed to the Speaker that a fact-finding committee comprising of the MLAs be formed to investigate CM’s intentions behind making such a statement and also urged that a complaint be filed before the appropriate competent authority to initiate an inquiry on the same.
“Chief Minister in a public statement had claimed that the old assembly records from 1963 to 2000 being lost during shifting of these documents from the old assembly housed at the Old Secretariat building to the new assembly complex at Porvorim,” states the memorandum addressed to the Speaker.
