MARGAO: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat has welcomed the Union government’s decision to allow fishing and fish trade during the lockdown period provided that proper hygiene is maintained.
Pointing out that fish is staple diet of many Goans, he urged the government to provide proper security at the fish markets and also ensure that cleanliness and hygiene is maintained while selling fish. Digambar said that it is equally the responsibility of people going to buy fish to follow the social distance. He also said that the government should decide upon sale of meat and chicken at least through the cold storage stores.
