MAPUSA: The Congress organised a Jan Akrosh rally in Mapusa on Friday, making a fervent appeal to restore governance in the State and highlighted the failures of the BJP government.
The rally commenced near the Aldona Bus Stand and ended outside the government office complex building. The gathering shouted slogans like ‘Zaiat Zage Goenkarano Zaiat Zage’ (Wake up Goans, Wake up).
During the rally the Congress supporters shouted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Parrikar-led government.
The rally was led by GPPC President Girish Chodankar, AICC in-charge Dr A Chellakumar, Mapusa Block Congress Committee President Vijai Bhike.
RTI Activist Rajan Ghate attended the rally.
Thivim MLA Nilkant Harlankar highlighted that Bardez has elected and given BJP MLAs a chance yet this government has done nothing for the people.
“The people dumped Congress representatives and elected the BJP MLAs for the second time. Today, the people of Bardez are suffering as there is no proper water supply, Ravindra Bhavan, and is lacking other facilities,” Harlankar said.
