MAPUSA: An interactive workshop called “Buniyaad” was organsied by the Congress for the office bearers of its North Goa district unit at Mapusa on Saturday.
The Congress has been organising similar programmes across Goa to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and spread its ideology. This is the third such workshop organised in Goa.
The workshop was addressed by party leaders, GPCC President Girish Chodankar and AICC Secretary Chella Kumar.
Interacting with media after the workshop, Chodankar said that unless the foundation of the party is strong the office bearers would not be able to move forward.
“Every office bearer should know what Congress stands for and the reason why they are part of the party. We tell what we expect from these office bearers and ask what they intend to do. It is compulsory for us to organise such workshops for the office bearers and this is the third workshop. We organised a similar workshop in Margao and we will be organising similar workshops for the block presidents and then for the Mahila Congress,” Chodankar said.
He said that the party has started a mass contact programme called ‘Noman Tuka Goyenkara’ wherein the party functionaries interact with the masses and are currently working on restructuring the organisation.
“Our office bearers are becoming ideologically very strong through such kind of workshops; it helps us stay connected with the party and its ideologies. The future leaders need to be ideologically connected to the party. When you have people joining your party for a reason then your organisation becomes strong,” Chodankar said.
