PANJIM: The ongoing tussle between Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar and member Janardhan Bhandari came out in the open when Bhandari and others met All India Congress Committee (AICC) Goa incharge Manickam Tagore and complained to him that the dedicated party members are being sidelined in the State.
Bhandari and others met Tagore after he chaired the executive committee meeting and told him that they have been taking up various public issues and fighting against the BJP government and rued lack of support from the president.
When contacted, Bhandari said. “We met Tagore and told him how the party is functioning in the State. We told him that we are working sincerely for the Congress and requested him to assess the ground reality.”
Bhandari claimed that the AICC incharge appreciated their work and requested them to strenghthen the organisation and concentrate on the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Besides Bhandari, Pradip Naik and Vikas Prabhudedsai, who was issued a show cause notice for indiscipline were also present.
Bhandari said that they complained to Tagore that those working for the party are being issued show cause notices on silly grounds and demoralised.
Later, Tagore felicitated 10 Block Congress committee presidents for completing constituting block committees, booth coordinators and booth committees in their respective constituencies.
